Introduction

In response to the Covid-19 induced lockdown, the government has set up several schemes to help ease the financial impact on businesses.  These schemes include the Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF). the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund (RHLGF) and the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme.  In May, the Small Business Discretionary Grant scheme was announced.  This scheme is intended to help small and micro businesses which have not been eligible to claim on any of the previously announced schemes apart from the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (staff furlough) and the Self-employed Income Support Scheme.

For full details of all the schemes the government is running to support businesses during the Covid-19 related lockdown, please visit the GOV.UK Information page.
