Small to medium sized businesses in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are eligible for up to £2,000 to support 16-24 year olds into employment through the Apprenticeship Programme.
The grant will be offered to eligible employers who could receive up to 5 grants in any one year. Eligibility criteria requires the business to have fewer than 250 employees, commit to continously employ the apprentice for a minimum of 12 months, pay the legal minimum requirement and ensure training is delivered via a government backed training organisation.
The value of each grant is as follows:
£2,000 for each apprentice that is aged 16-18 at the time they start their Apprenticeship;
£1,500 for each apprentice that is aged 19-24 at the time they start their Apprenticeship
The grant will be paid as a lump sum direct to the company once the apprentice has completed 10 weeks on the Apprenticehip Programme and the necessay paperwork has been received.
