Visit England Quality Schemes

Accommodation Quality Schemes

Quality assessment schemes are available for a variety of accommodation types, including hotels, B&Bs, self-catering properties, hostels, serviced apartments, holiday parks, campsites, glamping sites, and caravans. Each business receives either a 'mystery' overnight stay or a scheduled daytime visit. Following the visit, the assessor shares feedback with the owner or manager and agrees on a suitable star rating or accreditation level.

As part of the annual assessment, accommodation providers may also be recognised with a Gold, Silver or Breakfast Award, or be honoured with a ROSE Award for outstanding customer service.

Visitor Attraction Quality Schemes

VisitEngland provides quality accreditation for a wide range of visitor attractions through the Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme. This includes museums, art galleries, theme parks, safari parks, historic houses, gardens, and more. Each attraction is assessed in person by one of our experienced quality assessors, who also offer tailored support and guidance to help enhance the overall visitor experience.

Attractions demonstrating outstanding quality may also receive a VisitEngland Accolade, recognising excellence in areas such as Welcome, Quality Food & Drink, Best Told Story, Hidden Gem, and the prestigious Gold award.
