Introducing the East Anglia Energy Academy

The Official ribbon cutting and opening ceremony took place at Oxford Energy Academies brand new location in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire on Wednesday 15th May.

With trade vacancies at a record high, the UK needs to plug the escalating trade skills gap impacting our trades and construction sector. This modern, fully-equipped and purpose-built facility provides a fantastic learning environment to help beginners or qualified engineers in East Anglia achieve qualifications in: Plumbing, Domestic Gas, Commercial Gas, LPG, Renewables, Oftec and Electrical.

The academy, in partnership with Reed Environment, aims
to attract more young people onto the trades skills career path, grow a next-gen green trade workforce to help the UK meet its Net Zero targets, and to encourage established tradespeople to upskill with a focus on renewable energy.

The 15,500sqft site has space for 200 apprentices and other learners a year to develop their skills and knowledge. It is open to all over the age of 16 (Two GCSEs Grade 4 (minimum) in Math's and English required), also to all adults wishing to upskill or change careers. It offers a wide range of training courses, assessments, and qualifications across gas, electrical, plumbing, oil, and renewable energy skills.

Oxford Energy Academies are really excited to start serving the region, with courses starting in July.
