Government unveils £750m support package for struggling charities
Charities struggling during the coronavirus pandemic will be given a £750 million bailout to keep them afloat, the Chancellor has announced.
Rishi Sunak said charities, including those supporting domestic abuse victims and hospices, will receive cash grants to ensure they can meet increased demand as a result of the virus.

Budget 2020: Business rates suspended for shops and cafes
Tens of thousands of England's retail, leisure and hospitality firms will not pay any business rates in the coming year, the chancellor has announced.
Companies with a rateable value of less than £51,000 will be eligible for the tax holiday, Rishi Sunak said.
The measure applies to firms including shops, cinemas, restaurants and hotels.

A comprehensive signal restoration has been completed along the 7.5 mile railway between Peterborough and Yarwell, operated by Nene Valley Railway. The Eastern Region Semaphore which was originally recovered from Drench Drove Station in 1982 is one of the most important and visible signals along the route but has recently been deemed by technicians to be ‘unmaintainable’. Consequently, a financial donation of £11,296 from local construction specialist, the Mick George Group has permitted the necessary upgrades to be completed, allowing for this historic exhibit to safely control the operational railway once again.
